  • At which facility is Covid-19 PCR test available?

    A: The COVID-19 PCR test is available at the following locations:

    Medcare Hospital - Al Safa: 8:00am-8:00pm (Sunday-Sunday)

    Medcare Hospital Sharjah: 24/7 (Sunday-Sunday)

    Medcare Women & Children Hospital: 24/7 (Sunday-Sunday)

    Mirdif City Center - Medcare Medical Centre: 9:00 am-8:00 pm (Saturday-Thursday), 3:00pm-9:00pm (Friday) 

    Sharjah - Medcare Medical Centre: 9:00am-8:00pm (Saturday-Thursday)

  • What does the COVID test cost?

    A: A Covid-19 test is AED 150 at Medcare Hospitals & Medical Centres and AED 250 at the comfort of your home.

  • Do I need an appointment to get the Covid-19 PCR test at a Medcare Hospital or Clinic?

    A: To ensure we serve you better, we ask that you book your appointment prior to making your way to your Medcare location of choice.

  • Do I need to pre-register before taking the Covid-19 PCR test?

    A: Once you book your appointment we will send you an email to confirm your booking along with a link to a registration form. If you are a Medcare patient please fill out existing patient form or if you are a new patient to Medcare we ask that you complete the new patient registration form. It is recommended that you do pre-register in order to ensure quick service and no waiting time. This is not mandatory.

  • What do I need to carry along with me?

    A: If you are a resident of the UAE please carry your Emirates ID. If you are a visitor you need to bring your passport.

  • When do I expect to receive my Covid-19 PCR test results?

    A: Results are available between 24-48 hours after you take the test.  Please do not contact us unless you have not received your results within 48 hours. You may receive your results sooner, however this cannot be guaranteed. 

  • How will I receive my Covid-19 PCR test results?

    A: Once the results are out, you will automatically receive your positive or negative result via SMS and email on the details you have registered with us.

  • Will I get my results on the Medcare patient portal?

    A: No. The results will be sent to you via sms and email on the details you have registered with us.

  • Can I walk-in to a Medcare facility to do the Covid-19 PCR test?

    A: Yes, you may walk-in to most of Medcare Hospitals & Medical Centres to do the PRC test. Also, you have the option of getting the PCR done at the comfort of your home. Our qualified nurses will come to your doorstep and take the swab. You can book an appointment for a Covid-19 test at home at this link.

  • How early should I arrive for my Covid-19 PCR test appointment?

    A: Please arrive 10 minutes prior to your scheduled appointment time. If you have not filled out your medical history pre-registration form included in your appointment confirmation email, please scan the QR code displayed at the location to get access to the form. This will help reduce your wait time at the reception. Individuals who arrive late to their appointment will need to expect some delay. 

    If you have been in contact with a Covid-19 person or if you are having symptoms, you are required to reach 20 mins before your Covid-19 test appointment to take a consultation with a doctor.

  • Is the Covid-19 PCR test covered under insurance?

    A: If you have been in contact with a Covid-19 person or if you are having symptoms, your Covid-19 test could be covered under your insurance plan. You will have to take a consultation with a doctor, before going for Covid-19 test upon insurance approval. In such cases, you are required to reach 20 mins before your Covid-19 test appointment.
